2 in 5 workers won’t accept jobs that don’t offer remote working or flexible hours: Survey

- A survey found that about two in five respondents would not accept a job if it did not offer remote working or flexible working hours
- A similar proportion of respondents would also rather be unemployed than feel unhappy in their jobs
- The survey of 1,000 Singapore workers was conducted by recruitment agency Randstad
- Forty-four per cent of respondents said they were prepared to accept a lower pay for a job which contributed to society, higher than the global average
SINGAPORE — About two in five respondents in a survey here said that they would not accept a job if they were unable to work from home or anytime they wanted.
A similar proportion also said they would rather be unemployed than feel unhappy in their job, while about half of those surveyed insisted that they would quit their job if it prevented them from enjoying life.
