Highlights

  • Bensely recollects a lighter moment of driving a school bus to a small town on the southern end of Tamil Nadu to keep an important appointment with a prospective client while he was a divisional manager of sales at a company.
  • While thinking about planning to settle down, he doesn’t find meaning in doing the sales job for the next 25 to 30 years.
  • At one point, he was tempted to go back to sales, not because he wasn’t competent for the job, but due to the stereotypical perceptions that he had to encounter. He faced questions like how can a person from a smaller state like Kerala survive in a place like Pune.
  • Bensely didn’t take even a single career break to complete his studies! After his garden leave, he joined another organisation and continued his studies in parallel with his full-time corporate job.
  • Interestingly, Bensely and his wife studied in the same class for post-graduation. Perhaps, they were the first couple in the 100-year-old history of the college to study in the same class at a time. In the first semester, Bensely topped the class and in the last semester, his wife topped the class!
