Bharti Airtel managing director Gopal Vittal earned more than the company’s chairman Sunil Mittal in FY23, according to the telecom carrier’s latest annual report.

As per Airtel’s latest annual report for FY23, Vittal’s gross annual remuneration at Rs 16.84 crore was a tad higher than Mittal’s Rs 16.77 crore.

This is partly since there has been no change in the Airtel chairman’s annual salary & allowances component at Rs 10.06 crore (compared to FY22) while Vittal’s has increased almost 10.4% on-year to Rs 10.09 crore.

In FY22, Mittal and Vittal’s gross annual remuneration stood at Rs 15.39 crore and Rs 15.25 crore respectively.

Bharti Airtel’s latest annual report shows Vittal’s Rs 16.84 crore annual remuneration in FY23 comprised salary & allowances (Rs 10.09 crore), a performance-linked incentive (Rs 6.74 crore) and a nominal sum towards perquisites.

Vittal’s gross remuneration for FY23, though, did not include a perquisite value of Rs 13.78 crore towards the value of stock options exercised during the year, the annual report said.
