Bokaro Job Exchange Reminds Firms About 75% Quota For Locals, ETHRWorld

Bokaro: The implementation of the Jharkhand State Employment Of Local Candidates In Private Sector Act, 2021 which mandates 75% reservation to local candidates in private companies, has been a slow starter in Bokaro. Under the rules, establishments employing 10 or more persons are required to provide employment to 75% local candidates of the total posts.
While a large number of companies registered themselves with the district employment exchange, the majority haven’t provided details related to the number of employees working in tune with the law of the local administration. The district employment exchange has once again warned private companies to comply by the rules.
Employment officer, Manoj Manjit, said, “We have sent reminder notices to several companies asking them to provide their employee details or be ready to face penalty. Initially, the penalty will be between Rs 25,000 to Rs 1 lakh.”
“Approximately, 720 private companies and agencies have registered on the Jharkhand Employment portal ‘Jharniyojan.’ Of them, about 50% have provided employee details. In total, there are 21,302 employees working in those registered companies. However, we had sent notices to the rest of…
