A majority of CEOs in a poll conducted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) said they anticipate improved job creation prospects in their companies in the first half of this financial year, even as expectations of monetary tightening are pervasive.
The poll was conducted by the CII at its Second National Council Meeting for 2023-23 which saw the participation of 136 CEOs from across the country.
“Further, GDP growth is expected to be in the range of 7% to 8% as revealed by 57% of the CEOs while only 34% of them anticipate below 7% expansion in the economy,” the CII said on Sunday.
Besides, about half the CEOs (49%) felt rural demand would be better in six months to September than in the year-ago period.
