Staff Sergeants Ben Brednicki and Matt Macky are Pararescue Jumpers in the US Air Force. Considered a branch of special operations forces, PJs are an elite group whose entire mission is to save lives. Both Brednicki and Macky have seen multiple tours of combat and experienced the stress and horror of combat medicine. They were kind enough to sit down with me to share how they deal with the stress and stay mentally fit with the hope that some of their training and lessons will help a new breed of combat medic – those who have fought and are still fighting on the front lines of our civilian hospitals during this global pandemic
