Do you have a need to compare yourself with others? What if I told you that such comparison is really quite futile and pointless. In fact a habit of constant comparison can have detrimental effects on our own peace of mind and self esteem. It also makes us susceptible to negative emotions of envy and jealousy which can be very draining and unpleasant. So here is a little video I made on the topic of comparing ourselves to others and I share with you my own personal story of what has helped me climb out of this trap. I hope that it contributes to you or to your near ones who might be struggling with issues of comparison like I did. Dr. Ramya Ranganathan is an Electronics engineer from IIT Madras and holds a PGDM (MBA) from IIM Ahmedabad. She worked in the corporate world with blue chip companies like ICICI, Infosys and Citibank, before she embarked on a quest to learn how she could help people (and herself) flourish better at work. Ramya has a Doctorate in Management from London Business School and is currently a faculty of Organizational Behaviour at IIM Bangalore. Her personal passion is to help people find joy and meaning through their work. For the last six years, Ramya has been teaching highly popular courses at IIM Bangalore, emphasising on the need for happiness and meaning at work.
