Kanpur: The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT-K) has kicked off Phase-I of placement session (drive) with a flying start with 485 jobs being offered to students at the end of Day 1 of campus placements. The on-campus placement drive started at IIT-Kanpur on December 1.

The placement statistics highlight the success of IITK students with 428 students securing jobs through a combination of campus placements and Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs). Notably, 216 students surpassed traditional hiring methods, securing PPOs from both national and international companies. 12 students received international job offers.

Talking about the achievement on Day 1, Director, IIT-Kanpur, Prof S Ganesh said, “The Institute takes pride in its commitment to give high-quality education and forging pathways to successful career opportunities for its students. As we progress, IIT-Kanpur remains dedicated to nurturing excellence and cultivating an environment that empowers our students to excel in their chosen fields. I extend my best wishes to all those who have secured jobs and those who are appearing for placements in coming days.” Industry leaders such as Microsoft, Navi, Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, and Deutsche Bank have emerged as the top recruiter.
