BENGALURU: DXC Technology plans to hire over 10,000 people in India this year with a strong focus on candidates with digital technology skills, as the company looks to transform faster and remain competitive.
The US-headquartered tech services major, which was founded in 2017 after the merger of CSC and the enterprise business of Hewlett Packard Enterprise, has 45,000 employees in India, roughly 40% of its 1,30,000 staff employed globally. It lost the slot for the third-largest IT services company to Tata Consultancy ServicesNSE -0.67 %, which is growing in double digits.
“We continue to hire in India. We will probably hire more than 10,000 in India this year (FY20) with a very strong focus on digital skills,” said Samson David, global head of delivery and operations, DXC.
DXC Technology joins other global firms to increase its offshore base in India as they struggle to find talent in developed markets such as the US.
