The newest desi on the block at Twitter is Sriram Krishnan, the Indian-American engineer hired by ‘chief Twit’ Elon Musk to transform the micro blogging site that he recently bought for $44 billion.
Krishnan has history with Twitter, so he is not all that new. But this time, it is Musk who has onboarded the Chennai-born tech brain to affect changes that will align Twitter with the vision of the self-proclaimed free-speech absolutist’s.
Krishnan is currently a partner at venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (or a16z) and he has taken up the additional duty at Twitter temporarily. He confirmed he will not be quitting his current employer.
He wrote about his new role, “I (and a16z) belve this is a hugely important company and can have great impact on the world and Elon is the person to make it happen.”
