I read a book once, about couples who’d been together for 60 or more years. It was a kind of compendium of advice; learned secrets about how to sustain love over the long term. Amidst the predictable “Not a day went by that I didn’t tell her I loved her” type thing, was this showstopper: “We’re still together after all these years because we never fell out of love at the same time.”
