Hiring intent strong among most Indian Companies for December quarter

Bengaluru: India’s job market is set to continue on its strong growth trajectory in the festive December quarter, according to a survey of 3,040 companies, against a cooling in global hiring.

About 64% of Indian employers covered in the latest ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey, shared exclusively with ET, said they will recruit more people in the coming quarter, while 10% see a decrease in hiring intent and 24% expect to keep workforce levels steady. Only 2% were unsure about hiring intentions.

This puts net employment outlook – the difference between companies looking to hire and those expecting a fall in headcount or hiring numbers – at 54%, up 3 percentage points from the last quarter and 10 percentage points from the year earlier.
