If we look at the last decade, in each and every industry, there has been plethora of pivots which has consistently disrupted the way the industry would have operated at any time of the ten-year vis-a-vis five years back. Industries have pivoted on various aspects of technology, consumer preference, environment, geopolitical situations, or black swan event. The rate of change is only becoming faster every passing day and all of us are witnessing the same. Clearly, change will remain the only constant of our lives.

Organisations are created with a lot of guidelines, processes, policies, Service level agreements etc, which are all created with the prevailing context in mind. Due to disruptive forces, when the organisation is required to change frequently, it creates a certain level of dissatisfaction amongst employees, as many of them may not be able to understand the reason for the change or are in their happy place and the organisation is pushing for change.

The implications of frequent changes in the way the organisation would work creates lower engagement, chaos in terms of way forward in the minds of employees and often insecurity of the future amongst employees. Irrespective of these implications, the leadership decides to move ahead with the changes knowing fully well that there will be implications of the change. The reason for such decisions…
