LinkedIn’s Jobs on the Rise report shows the recovery is likely to see demand for digital skills, and talent with a lifelong learning mindset

India’s job landscape has been transformed due to the challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing uncertainty it has brought which means not only the jobseekers but the employers have had to look at different ways to adapt to these changes. 

For most of us, 2020 was a year of adapting to change. Whether it was our personal or professional lives, we found ourselves relying heavily on tech solutions for our day-to-day functioning.

LinkedIn recorded hiring declines touched a new low in April, but there were signs of recovery over the following six months which is heartening to see. The recovery this year is likely to see demand for digital skills, and talent with a lifelong learning mindset will be well placed to take advantage of these new opportunities. 

At LinkedIn, our focus has always been to help job seekers find their next opportunity as we also help organizations find and hire the right talent for their evolving needs. Towards this goal, we have released a list of 15 job categories that have risen to the fore, as a result of the changes we saw caused by the global pandemic. This year’s Jobs on the Rise in India report [link to report] has compared the roles experiencing the highest growth between April and October 2020, against the same period in the year before.
