Machine Learning Can Improve Retail Results

By | Raman

Machine Learning (ML), a subset of Artificial Intelligence (AI), may be unknown at first to many retail business owners and managers. But once they realizewhat it is, how it can benefit their bottom line, and how to use it, it becomes another criticaltool in the arsenal of growing sales and profits.

The accompanying infographic, Machine Learning in the Retail Sector, presents a basic overview of the topic. It begins with simple descriptions of artificial intelligence and machine learning. Basically, artificial intelligence is the development of computer systems that can perform tasks that we normally think of as requiring human effort. For example, AI applications use visual perception, speech recognition, language translation and decision-making tools to analyze and solve problems, speed up processes and even learn.

It is likely that even more benefits will be discovered in the future. Isn’t it time to take advantage of all the data that’s out there now by jumping on the ML bandwagon?
