Maharashtra Covid curbs: Salons, sports complexes closed from Monday; schools, colleges shut till February 15

In the latest order, the state government said entertainment parks, zoos, museums and all other tourists places will remain closed. As part of the night curfew, no movement is allowed after 11pm. During the day too, a gathering of five or more people will not be allowed anywhere in the state

In the wake of rising covid cases, the Maharashtra government on Saturday issued fresh restrictions in the state that called government and private offices to ensure that fewer employees work from offices and barred people from 11pm to 5am except for essential services.

In an order issued late evening the Chief secretary said that no movement in groups of five and more people from 5am to 11pm, the state has also tried to discourage people’s movement during the night barring those who are not of essential services from 11pm to 5am. The order would be enforceable from Sunday mid night.

In government offices, visitors are being asked to not visit the offices unless there is ‘explicit and written’ permission from ‘Heads of Offices’. Government offices have been asked to organize online interactions through virtual conference. Government offices have been asked to ‘promote’ work from home as well as staggering of work hours like flexible work hours, the head offices have been asked to take a call on it.
