Going back to re-crafting Strategy? – Here are 5 tips for you to consider

Going back to the drawing board: An idiom used to connote a precarious or outdated plan/strategy, causing one (or many) to start from scratch to ensure that similar mistakes are not repeated. 

Such has been the plight for most industries over the past few months, with Covid-19 as well as numerous other factors being the culprit. Now, this article is not about discussing the problems that often lead business owners to press the reset button; rather, it is about what to remember during and after pressing that button. 

Ask – What’s working? 

Take a moment to make a list of all the elements that did work and commend your team for making them happen. Focusing on and retaining successful tactics will help businesses understand the clear factors for their growth. 

Ask – What’s not working? 

Make a list of all the factors contributing to the downfall and ensure every one of them is clearly documented followed by a comprehensive root cause analysis for each.  

List out the can-do’s. 

You’ve been here before; all you need to do is make a list of all the goals you planned to do earlier but couldn’t materialize. Focus on the goals that you want to achieve now with a time window and resource requirement for each.  

Build culture. 

A business is as strong as the people working in it; building a culture with a foundation of values for success and shared growth is a vital tool many business owners take for granted. Thus, hone with ability to craft an unbreakable culture.
