IIT Madras students bag 152 internship offers on Day 1; Institute fares better than last year

New Delhi: Students at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras bagged 152 offers in its just conducted Day One of the campus internship drive held completely online for the first time. Microsoft offered the highest number of internship offers on the Day One. Other top recruiters that offered internships include Google, Jane Street and Rubrik, according to the institute.
This year, 20 companies made 152 offers to undergraduate students compared to 147 offers made on Day One of 2019.
The total number of internships offered during the last academic year (2019-2020) was 554. Students get paid a stipend during their internship.
This year also saw two international profiles for internships – one each from Rubrik’s Software Development, based in the US, and Jane Street’s Quantitative Researcher, Hong Kong. Both these two international profiles provided the highest compensation packages.
