Mangaluru: The MRPL Aromatics Complex Employees Union has expressed concern over the delay in the implementation of equal pay for the project displaced family (PDF) non-management employees.

Union president Sudheer Kumar stated in a release that the ONGC Mangalore Petrochemicals Limited (OMPL) was a wholly owned subsidiary of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL).

The OMPL is an Aromatic Complex in 442 acre land situated in Mangalore Special Economic Zone (MSEZ). The MRPL and the ONGC Mangalore Petrochemicals Limitedmerged on May 1, 2022. However, till now the HR integration of OMPL non-management employees with the MRPL was not completed, he said.

The HR department of MRPL is forcing them to accept lower pay than the PDF members employed at the MRPL. Due to this discrimination, the OMPL non-management employees have already lost welfare facilities since the merger.

The MRPL Aromatics Complex Employees Union is a registered trade union of MRPL non-executive employees of erstwhile OMPL consisting more than 290 PDF employees, he said.
