The shift from HR Tech to Work Tech

For too long, HR Tech has been designed for the benefit of the employer. Work Tech shifts the power and emphasis to the employee.

The HR technology space continues to attract a lot of hype as well as a growing level of investment. There are literally thousands of vendors in this space. John Sumser estimated back in 2017 that there were 40,000 vendors “all certain that their offerings are strategic, are calling into HR Departments around the world.”

Obviously this means that there is a hell of a lot of choice. But whether you are an HR practitioner, a buyer, an investor or an HR tech company itself, how do you navigate what is a complex and at times confusing market and should it even be called HR Tech anyway?

That’s the topic for this weeks episode. Where I talk to one of the most knowledgeable and experienced people working in the space, Jason Corsello, on the shift from HR Tech to Work Tech.

Jason is now the founder and CEO at The Acadian Company and Acadian Ventures. He has worked in the broad HR Technology space for two decades, has worked as an analyst, a consultant and prior to launching Acadian in 2018 spent seven years as Head of Strategy and Corporate Development at Cornerstone.
