By | Farhan Ali

In 2022, many families will not be able to eat every night at home. Families are constantly moving, with everyone on their own schedule, possibly on a budget, or with restricting medical conditions. There are plenty of reasons to take a nice night out for dinner instead of making a meal. Another plus about restaurants these days is a lot of them deliver in a post-COVID world. Let’s see some of the best places to grab a bite in Charlotte, NC.

Midwood Smokehouse

If you’re headed south, you need to try Barbeque. Southern BBQ is a tradition of American culture and there are many states and regions that are very proud of their BBQ. Midwood Smokehouse is on almost every food blogger’s recommended list. With 5 locations between North and South Carolina, you can probably bet that there’s a reason for this.

They offer a large selection of ribs in a slightly more elevated scene. Not to say that BBQ joints are not classy, however, a lot of folks associate BBQ with picnics and backyard pool parties. Charlotte residents have taken this staple of backyard hangouts and perfected it. Options from pulled pork, brisket, burnt ends, mac n cheese, hush puppies, and banana pudding. This is a MUST stop for those looking to enjoy these southern comfort foods.

This famous food spot may give you reason enough to look into Charlotte homes for sale. But just to add to the mouthwatering, here are a few more details. Portions tend to be large, cooked to perfection with crisp and tenderness in every bite, and all of this for a very reasonable price. If you had a favorite barbeque spot prior to visiting Midwood, they will soon become your second favorite.

Lang Van

Midwood Smokehouse isn’t the only place in Charlotte that residents and visitors rave about. Lang Van is a Vietnamese restaurant with fresh ingredients and traditional Vietnamese food for all of us rice noodle lovers. One of the benefits of Lang Van is the array of vegan-friendly options. There are over 140 items available to order. You have traditional spring rolls and pho available. However, you can also get pineapple fried rice that’s served in a pineapple cut.

This is truly local eating in Charlotte, with there only being this location and run by a family from South Vietnam. They raised their children here and ran the restaurant after the previous owner moved out of Charlotte. The owner’s story is pretty famous among the locals who love to chow down on their delicious pork, duck, and chicken.

The fish is also quite popular here, especially if you can only consume a certain diet. Customers have stated that Lang Van is great at bringing out flavor in the most simple ways. Many first-timers are surprised with their newfound love of Vietnamese food. Although the atmosphere is pretty much comparable to any other Asian American restaurant, they are clean, have delicious food, and are worth the stop!

The Melting Pot

This place is definitely one of the most non-traditional restaurants we’ve come across in our adventures. The Melting Pot is most notable for its main focus and renowned praise is for the many ways you can fondue. This restaurant is more like an experience. And generally, if you’re not trying to have fondue, it probably wouldn’t be suggested if you don’t think you can get down with delicious melted cheese and chocolate. However, it sounds absolutely amazing to us.

In addition to cheese and chocolate, you can indulge in many veggies, fish, and chicken. There’s plenty of salad to go around as well. This experience also offers a side that you don’t receive anywhere else. You are able to cook your food at your table with a hot pot in the middle of the table. How awesome is that?

At the Melting Pot, it is recommended that you book ahead of time as they get very busy. There really isn’t anything else like this in Charlotte, so you can imagine how weekends can be trying to get a table. All of these options offer a great variety for a few different types of eaters. When you are visiting Charlotte, you can pick all 3 at least and try them out. These choices are just some of the many awesome eateries in Charlotte.
