U.S. Weekly Jobless Claims: 239K

States reported that 239,000 workers filed for new unemployment benefits during the week ending Aug. 12, a decrease of 11,000 from last week’s revised level. Overall, jobless claims have been holding within normal range this year, notwithstanding a slight bump in the last two weeks.
