What is my Learning Style ?

Source |

The term “learning styles” speaks to the understanding that every individual learns differently. Technically, an individual’s learning style refers to the preferential way in which the individual absorbs, processes, comprehends and retains information.

Each learner has distinct and consistent preferred ways of perception, organization and retention. These learning styles are characteristic cognitive, affective, and physiological behaviors that serve as pretty good indicators of how learners perceive, interact with, and respond to the learning environment.

Each of us has different learning strengths – a combination of personal preferences that enable us to:

  •  Begin to concentrate
  •  Take in and new and difficult information
  •  Remain focused
  •  Understand and remember important information and ideas

When we are able to apply our strengths we become more efficient, more productive and more successful. We are much more likely to produce our best work.
