Seven in 10 companies today have dedicated employee wellness strategies, but over half of them lack a structured body overseeing the proper execution of the wellness strategy, finds a new survey.

When it comes to decision-makers that shape employee wellness programmes, 35% of respondents state that it is the CHRO who makes the vital decisions. 32% stated that CEOs play a crucial role in ensuring their wellness programmes are on the right track, according to the MediBuddy Wellness 360 Research Study.

The survey, which has responses from over 324 companies across the country, assesses how the employee wellness landscape has evolved and some of the pivotal changes have been.

“The data shows that 78% of companies believe that the primary goal of their wellness programmes has been to increase employee engagement. Additionally, building a robust wellness culture (62%) and improving employee productivity (58%) remain important priorities for companies,” Seema Vijay Singh, chief people and culture officer at MediBuddy, told ET.

However, many companies still struggle to measure their wellness impact, she added.
